I received a call from this number and the caller said that he was from Nedbank. He said that the call was urgent as my online profile had been hacked by one of the benificiaries account number's that I have added to my profile. He claimed that this hacker, via their account number now had access to my account, CVV numbers, etc. and that my account would be emptied soon. Apparently he had just had this happen to another customer. He said that he needed to secure my account urgently to prevent me from losing money. In order to do this he needed to open a temporary account to transfer my money. He started quoting my ID no. I told him that this all sounded suspicious and that I would call the Nedbank fraud division myself. he told me that I would be wasting precious time as he could help me right then and there. I told him that I was going to cut the call and call my bank myself. He said fine then Nedbank will not be held liable when I lost my money. Needless to say I called the Nedbank fraud line and found out that my account was fine with no suspicious activity. I asked the Nedbank consultant to suspend my online profile and report this caller to their fraud and investigations department.
