There have been several calls over the last 3 days. When answered, there is silence with many voices in the background. The caller would the establish my name and ask how I am. The call would the begin to beep as if engaged. Then I hang up.

Asked for me by my first name. Didn't identify company calling from. I immediately asked yo be removed from the call list. Was told she can't do that, I have to send an email. I ended the call.

I worked in two call centres. As soon as you ask to be removed from the data base, the call centre is legally obliged to do so. If they continue calling you, charge them with harassment and report them to the call centre ombudsman.
