Tried to call me numerous times. First time he said they were from MasterCard Fraud, and someone tried to use a credit card in my name. Now I wish there was a way to block incoming numbers on landlines!! So I just answer and cut off!!

Caller pretended to be from the Credit card division of a bank. She knew my surname. She asked me if I had used my credit card to purchase air tickets/hotel acommodation. I said no, then she wanted me to give info to stop the transaction. She would not give me the bank name but when pressed told me it was Absa. I said I don't have an Absa bank account. She put the phone down very quickly.

Hi there. I also got a call on my landline tel. grom 0113619010. Person (female) on call wanted me to give her my MasterCard or VISA card details. But when I asked which card & what is the name of the card holder, she hung up. I Googled the tel. number & I was amongst many who were subjected to this kind of phishing. I reported this tel. number to my bank manageress at Standard & asked her to alert their fraud department.
Ina replied 11/20/19, 4:32 PMA woman from this number phoned me at 14h58 on 19 Nov 2019. When I asked her name and where she was phoning from she was very rude. I told her I don't talk to people I don't know and hungup. -

told me that my card was used for transaction to buy something online from Australia. He obviously tried to get my card details, but when I said "I suppose now you're going to ask me for my credit card details", he said that it was just a courtesy call to make sure that I didn't use it and he will block the transaction. He wanted to ask me more questions and that he could transfer me to my bank manager to confirm. I said that I'm not that stupid and that I would call my bank myself. I told him to have a nice day.
