Received a "call" from this number which rang for a split second.
It's a new scam used by illegitimate "companies" so that you call them back thinking you missed the call. That is why you will be unable to answer the call they make, and why it appears as a "missed call".
They will then proceed to tell you that "they" (there's actually no more than 3 scammers usually working their magic) are unaware of what the purpose of the call was, and that you should provide your Government issued ID number, date of birth, home address, etc.
They are actually receiving your telephone number from someone that they have on the inside of South African banks to send them contact details of banking clients with a certain financial profile.
These are nefarious people and not legitimate business.
The number being used is a VOIP number, and not one registered with a South African telecoms company, like Telkom, Neotel and so forth. The number was issued by a third party voip service which is not accountable to anybody.
Beware, do not call back, and do not divulge your details.
