This number calls, with an electronic message that asks you to hold while it connects you, then it drops the call. What cowardly company uses this method of marketing?!
Karin Maritz replied 5/23/14, 2:26 PMI get the same call for the past year from this number almost very day. It has stoopped for a while, but has now started again. It is really irritating -

Every morning at 10:30 I get this number calling me, I answered once but hung up a few seconds later when I heard it was telesales... These people annoy the hell out of me, I signed a contract to have my info to be private but then get this constant crap from people!

This is yet another 031 number calling me at least 5-10 times a day, they have said they are Edgars, ABSA, Vodacom and Hollard to me. Once again I have blocked the number. What really bothers me is that there seems like there is nothing we can do to stop them. They seem to have a whole call centre type of set up. Once you answer you will receive many calls all day long. They must have connections in Telkom and other service providers in order to change their numbers so regularly. I have had a couple 087 numbers as well. The other thing is most of us that are being harassed by them must have something in common like a product where they have got our details from a database. Very frightening.

She told me that she was a person financial company something something holding that works with Hollards Funeral Insurance, and I only realised that she is a fraud when she asked for my personal details over the phone. So whatever happens just remember that no company will ask for you personal details over the phone, stay safe.

This number has been phoning me on and off for two weeks now on my mobile and landline. When I answer I get the automated voice prompt to please hold then get cut off. When I don't answer it, it automatically redails my landline number.

Gotten calls from this number at least once every single day for about 2 weeks. I've answered twice. First time I was asked to hold by an automated voice while it connected me then I was hung up on. Second time was silence then hung up on. This has to be a scam. I'm frustrated and wish there was some authority I could report to.

They phones with advertisement regarding new products on offer on behalf of Edgars. Funeral plan, investment plan and some others. I asked them to remove me from the dialing list. Hopefully this annoyance will stop.
I say it's probably trustworthy, just annoying marketing.

The person calling me said she was Mrs Naidoo, from ABSA, must have called me 3 times over the past month (Telling me that she has good news and I have been chosen), luckily i was busy the other times but this time i decided to listen. She confirmed all my information to me which is scary. She tried to offer me an illness policy for R100 a month for a payout of R200000 when claiming. When i said I dont want the policy right at the end she became offensive and irritated that I wouldnt go along with it. I said that she can send me the document and I will decide and then get back to her or I will go to ABSA myself, she then implied that she cant send me the policy documents if I dont take the policy right there and then over the phone, and also because its just a telephone offer and I will not be able to do this at the ABSA bank. I asked her why out of our millions of other people in the country she keeps calling me and she became defensive and tried to talk me into it even more. I am doubting seriously that this is trustworthy! Im upset that people take other people on such a ride like this and think its ok.
