An "Amanda PETERSEN" called me to say that she's from ABSA Fraud Department and the call is recorded and all that jazz and had my ID no but with the last three digits still our old no. She said R 1 000.00 had been suspiciously spent on "EasyPay" and they want to verify that transaction - obviously there was no such transaction. She had my credit card no because when I read parts of it she filled in the rest. She then asked me to read her the seven nos on the back, and then said I could only read her the last three. It was then that I knew it was a scam. I told her I will go to the bank to cancel the R 1 000.00 payment and she said it's OK. I even phoned back the no and she answered as Absa Fraud Dept.and said they were in ABSA Towers. I had to cancel my credit card with the real ABSA now.

This caller claims he's calling from Nedbank and needs to convert your greenback points to cash that you can draw at the ATM with your credit card and ask you to confirm your details and then does purchases from your credit card. DO NOT GIVE ANY CARD DETAILS when requested online. If its from the bank they should have your card details
